Ficulle, Umbria:  While the origins of the town and the castle date back to the 11th century, there are pre-Roman ruins underneath the town. In Roman times, Ficulle was an important  trade center on a principal road of the Roman Empire.

Centrally located, Ficulle is just a 10 minute drive from the autostrada and the train station, allowing easy access to Rome, Florence, Orvieto, Perugia, Todi and Assisi, as well as to the prestigious villages of southern Tuscany and northern Lazio.
